Our mattresses are used in a variety of hydraulic applications which include: • Channel Linings – municipal, mining, agriculture • Culverts – storm water conduits and underpasses • Weirs – silt traps, flow attenuation, flow measurement • Dams – spillways, outlet portals, erosion control, articulated rip-rap • Dykes – water impoundments and retention barriers • Storm water control - flow dissipation, attenuation and retention ponds, • Groynes and piers - river diversion, bank/shore erosion protection, flow attenuation, tidal and storm surge control • Marinas – Embankments, tidal protection, jetties.

Our mattresses are manufactured from woven steel wire mesh in accordance with SANS 1580 – “Hexagonal steel wire mesh gabions and revet mattresses”. The steel wire used to manufacture the woven mesh is zinc coated in compliance with SANS 675 – “Zinc-coated fencing wire” or Galfan coated (Zn – Al 5% alloy). The galvanised or Galfan wire is also available with an additional polymer coating of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The PVC coating is a thickness of ≥0.48mm as required by SANS 1580).
